H.R.C

As you all know I want to write my research paper on Hilary Clinton. I have been having difficulties narrowing down my ideas. I want to make sure that I write a research paper and not a biography. So as I looked into her life I see she is involved in many child advocacy efforts. In general, The First Lady's position is to "take care" of women and children. Throughout my research I have discovered that Clinton stayed extremely involved even after her position of The First Lady. I am using research previous to 1992 and post 1998 to show how she behaved as The First Lady, as a senator, and now as a presidential candidate. I think this will be specific enough to write a good paper.

Translation and Missippi

I think I want to compare "Lost Translation," and "Coming of Age in Missippi." I didn't even think about comparing them until class today. In both stories there is a theme of struggle. I'd like to talk about how both women, although they went through different situations, struggled adjusting. Neither of the articles used in class for these stories go with what I would like to talk about. In Lost in Translation Eva Hoffman has issues with the different cultures between Canada and Poland. She develops a lot of hatred thoughout her life towards people. Just like in Coming of Age in Misssippi, Anne Moody also starts hating everyone. She hated white people and black people. I am going to compare how both women are effected by their situations so much that they took it out on other people.

Blogs...

I chose to read a blog called Pamela's Punch. (www.pamelaspunch.com) This blog is written by a woman in her 30's living in DC. I was very interested in finding a blog written by someone in DC. Pamela talks mostly about her social life in the District which is very exciting to me now that I am a "DC-er." She is very witty, and opinionated, and I enjoy living vicariously through her exciting life.

'till next time.
